The two accused have been identified as Rohit Rathi and Varun.
The five, including a brother and sister, had gone to attend a birthday party of a friend at the discotheque, Junkyard. All of them were dancing when one of the accused started to touch the women in an inappropriate manner. When they objected, he apologised and left the dance floor. But a few minutes later, he returned with the second accused and repeated the act. The women tried to avoid them first but later confronted them. "The two were very aggressive. They were passing obscene gestures. Later, they touched me inappropriately. When I objected, they started abusing us,” said one of the women. As the women were arguing with the accused, the three men approached the bouncers. The accused were thrown out of the discotheque.
When the five stepped out of the club after around two hours, the two accused along with 20 unidentified persons attacked them with sharp-edged weapons. One of them hit an iron rod on the head of the brother of one of the women. He received 25 stitches. Another youth was attacked with a knife. He got 19 stitches. The accused fled. "A few bouncers of another club were among the attackers,” alleged one of the women. The three men were taken to a hospital.

'Insisted on compromise'
One of the women told TOI, "We approached the police in the wee hours of September 2 itself when the incident took place. They wanted us to strike a compromise and kept on delaying the matter by saying that the presence of the accused is needed.” "On September 4, around 35 persons came with the accused. They did not arrest them. They kept on insisting for a compromise. We finally met the SSP after which the FIR was lodged at 10.30 pm on Thursday,” the women said.
