Although police suspect this to be a suicide pact, the exact cause of death will be ascertained only after receipt of the autopsy report. Police said the deceased have been identified as Nagma, 27, and Murshleen, 24, originally from Bijnor, Uttar Pradesh.
Sources said Faraan, Nagma's husband, had gone to Uttar Pradesh, while Nagma and Murshleen lived in the house at Buterla village in Sector 41. The incident came to light when Faraan made a video call to Nagma. His four-year-old son answered the phone and told him that his mother and uncle were hanging in the room. Faraan then called his cousin and sent him to the house. When he reached, he found both hanging in a room and informed the police.
Police reached the spot and rushed both to GMSH-16, where doctors declared them dead on arrival. A CFSL team also inspected the crime scene and collected evidence. Ram Dayal, SHO, Sector 39 police station, said initially, the case appeared to be suicide, but the actual cause would be ascertained after the postmortem report and forensic investigation. Statements of neighbours, the husband, and others are being recorded, he added.
