Will Samjhauta chug in?

Amritsar: Amid escalating tension between India and Pakistan, there are apprehensions about the arrival of Samjhauta Express from Pakistan on Thursday. According to some media reports, Pakistan has unilaterally cancelled the train running between two countries. However the railway authorities denied having information about any such directions from the government.

Doctors leaves cancelled

Amritsar: Guru Nanak Dev Hospital has cancelled leaves of all doctors and other staff. The hospital medical superintendent said they have issued directions to remain prepared for any eventuality and that not only leaves already granted have been cancelled but the staff has been asked to not take new leaves. Sources said the hospital has also stocked up on medicines and other essential supplies.
