The delegates of Mohali Private Schools Association called upon additional deputy commissioner (ADC) Charandev Singh Mann on Friday and claimed that the FIR registered against them is based on false grounds. Accompanied by their counsel, they submitted a representation to ADC. Counsel Randeep Partap Singh said, “The error lies at the administrative end. They failed to inform schools on time. The orders were signed by deputy DEO on November 14 at 10am and FIR was registered on the same day whereas schools were ignorant about the orders. We demand that the FIRs must be cancelled.”
FIRs were registered under Section 188 of the IPC against Manav Mangal School, Phase X, Learning Path School, Sector 67, Millennium School, Phase V, Shishu Niketan School, Phase IV, Shastri Model School, Phase I and Paragon Senior Secondary School, Sector 69.
Sapra said, “We will also get the matter of passing the information late to the schools probed as the orders were issued on November 13.”
On November 13, DC-DM had issued orders to change the school timings for government and private schools of Mohali district from 8.20 am to 10am for November 14 to 18, till further orders.
