PATIALA: "It is not essential that a wife should always agree with her husband," said Dr Navjot Kaur Sidhu, BJP MLA from Amritsar (East) on Thursday after her cricketer-turned-politician Navjot Singh Sidhu announced the launch of Awaaz-e-Punjab front in Chandigarh. Talking to TOI, Navjot Kaur said, " I am still a member of the BJP and will decide about the future course of my political career at the right time."
While her husband announced that his new party by the name of Awaaz-e-Punjab would be registered within next 15-20 days, Navjot Kaur attended the Punjab Vidhan Sabha session that began on Thursday.
Navjot Kaur said, "I can always take a decision about the future of my political career in the coming days. I have been given funds that I am spending in my constituency and helping its people."
She added that she was committed to serve the people and would not like to disturb the ongoing projects.
On her equation with the Badals, the BJP leader said that she had a good working relationship with chief minister Parkash Singh Badal and deputy chief minister Sukhbir Badal. "There were issues that I have brought to the notice to the BJP high command," she said.
Meanwhile, Sidhu told the mediapersons at the launch of his new party in Chandigarh that AAP convener
Arvind Kejriwal had offered him to become a star campaigner for the AAP in
