Goldy Brar

has claimed responsibility for the murder of Punjabi singer and Congress leader Sidhu Moose Wala in a Facebook post on Sunday evening. Goldy Brar is a close aide of gang leader Lawrence Bishnoi, who is also said to be involved in the singer's murder.

Currently lodged in Delhi's high security Tihar jail, Bishnoi is said to have ordered the killing.
Who is Lawrence Bishnoi

His dapper appearance belies his criminal record. But the 29-year-old Punjab-based gangster Lawrence Bishnoi has often shattered the peace in Delhi-NCR, Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh.


Born on February 12, 1993, Lawrence Bishnoi set out as a student leader. He is a former student of DAV College in Chandigarh. He joined the student organisation for Punjab University (SOPU) around 2011. Around the same time, Bishnoi got involved in cases of vehicle lifting and extortions in his hometown of Firozpur.

Bishnoi's father, a constable in Haryana Police, left the service just after five years and started farming.

There are multiple cases registered against him in Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan and Delhi. It was only when he came under the tutelage of Punjab-based gangster Amandeep Singh (Happy) Deora, that he turned to the world of organised crime.

“He has a legion of loyal supporters and sharpshooters, which remains a threat for all of us,” said an official of Rajasthan police.

Bishnoi gang is said to have over 700 members including professional sharpshooters.

The gangster has been steadily expanding his base in the world of crime. Bishnoi challenged the cops after he vowed to kill Bollywood actor Salman Khan in Jodhpur in a full public view, giving a major headache to Rajasthan police.
