Weather to turn cooler as rain, snow likely in HP today
Shimla: The meteorological department has forecast light rain or snowfall at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh on May 24, while light precipitation is expected in the middle and higher hills on May 25.Heat wave conditions are likely to affect isolated areas of the hill state on May 26 and 27. The weather department has predicted a fresh western disturbance to impact north-west India from May 28, bringing light to moderate rainfall at a few places in the state on May 28 and 29. Meanwhile, several parts of Himachal received light to moderate rainfall on Saturday. Kullu district recorded the highest rainfall at 9.3 mm, followed by Lahaul and Spiti with 5.9 mm, Shimla with 3.1 mm and Mandi with 2.2 mm. Tabo in Lahaul and Spiti was the coldest place in the state with a minimum temperature of 3.8 degrees Celsius on Saturday, while Paonta Sahib in Sirmaur recorded the highest maximum temperature of 42 degrees Celsius.
