Watch: CCTV captures moment when student shoots classmate to death in Punjab law college

TARN TARAN: CCTV footage captured the shocking moment at Tarn Taran’s Usma Law College when a first-year student shot dead his classmate inside a classroom before turning the weapon on himself. The entire tragedy unfolded in just four to five seconds, leaving students and staff in utter shock.

The footage shows the suddenness and severity of the attack, leaving no time for anyone in the classroom to react.



The incident took place on Monday, creating panic among students and faculty.

According to senior superintendent of police (SSP) Surendra Lamba, the deceased female student has been identified as Sandeep Kaur, while the accused is Prince Raj Singh, who allegedly opened fire on Sandeep before shooting himself in the head.

Both students were in their first semester at the college. Witnesses reported being stunned by the sudden gunshots, prompting immediate police intervention.

Sandeep Kaur died on the spot.

SSP Lamba confirmed that police have begun a detailed investigation into the motive behind the murder-suicide attempt.

“CCTV footage from the college is being obtained, statements of students and staff are being recorded, and all angles are being examined,” he added.

There are conflicting reports about the boy’s condition.

Nachhattar Singh, the sarpanch of Mallian village where the boy lived, claimed that the youth has died, while police maintain that he is still in critical condition.

He added that the boy’s father, who serves in the Army, had left for duty 15–20 days ago after spending his holidays at home, leaving only the mother and son in the house.
