AMBALA: Haryana cabinet minister Anil Vij lashed out at Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal, asking the latter to find the cause of pollution in his territory.
Vij said, “Why is it that the polluted winds only flow towards Delhi and not Chandigarh?” His statements came after Kejriwal and his Haryana counterpart Manohar Lal Khattar met on Wednesday and agreed upon measures to prevent recurrence of smog at the onset of the winter in 2018.

Vij said the Kejriwal-led Delhi government should provide grants to farmers to stop them from burning crop residue if it wanted to tackle pollution.
Commenting on the issue, Vij said if Punjab and Haryana’s 10 days of stubble burning was the reason behind pollution in Delhi, then Chandigarh would have been the first to be affected. “Delhi remains polluted for the whole year. Who is responsible for it during the whole year and what steps are being taken by the Delhi government for controlling it? The Delhi CM should find the cause of the pollution in Delhi itself,” Vij said.
He said while the Kejriwal-government in Delhi, was putting the blame on farmers for stubble burning and held them guilty for the pollution the AAP’s own party workers in Punjab were openly burning stubble.
Meanwhile, commenting on Punjab CM Amarinder Singh’s decision not to meet his Delhi-counterpart, Vij said it was wrong. “There was no harm in sitting together in a meeting over talks to look for ways to tackle pollution,” Vij said.
