For the actors of '

Fukrey Returns

', it is a moment to reckon with. Jugaad is now officialy a part of the

Oxford

dictionary. What makes the cast of the film happy about this update is that the word was extensively used in their first film, 'Fukrey'. Chandigarh-based actor Varun Sharma, who played the character of

Choocha

in the film, shared with us some hilarious jugaads he has done in his lifetime. "The word jugaad means a lot to us Indians. And especially hum Punjabis ke liye toh woh ek bahut important word hai, because we are forever doing some jugaad or the other! Actually, everyone in India does some jugaad in their lives, whether in school, college, marriages, work etc. And most of us have different jugaads for different situations," quips Varun. We ask him what was his favourite/memorable jugaad, and he says, "In school, I used to love eating pav bhaji and kulchey choley from our canteen. But my mom used to pack paranthey for tiffin almost daily. To raise money for the canteen food, I started selling the paranthas for Rs 5 each. I got caught when I started telling mom to make more than one parantha. When I told her make five, then she realised something was wrong and called my friend to find out. Of course, that was the last day I saw paranthas!" laughs Varun.

While that was in the past, Varun finds the dictionary update topical in the present too. "The best part is, now I won’t have to translate the meaning of the word jugaad to any foreigner when I’m travelling abroad. Since most Indians are doing some jugaad or the other, foreigners get rather intrigued. Now, I’ll just open Google and show them the dictionary meaning of the word."

The actor who is super excited about playing Choocha again in 'Fukrey Returns' says the whole team has been discussing this update since they heard about it. "The tagline of our film is, 'Umeed pe nahi, jugaad pe duniya chalti hai'. So, our excitement over Oxford incorporating the word is obvious," says Varun who is looking forward to reprising Choocha in the second film. "’m so ecstatic that I am playing Choocha again. This is the role I debuted with, and it remains the best character of my life. It will go the grave with me. To play it now, is like getting into Choocha’s skin again after four years," he beams.
