Vajra Corps celebrates Veterans Day

Jalandhar: Vajra Corps on Saturday celebrated the seventh Tri-Services Veterans Day at Jalandhar Cantonment, with more than 2,000 ex-servicemen from the Army, Air Force, and Navy in attendance along with their families. As chief guest, Union minister of state for commerce and industry Som Parkash felicitated 30 veterans and Veer Naris. He thanked the former soldiers for their service to the nation and assured them that the government and the Army were sensitive to their needs. Lieutenant General Devendra Sharma, general officer commanding of Vajra Corps, Major General K V Jauhar, GOC 91 Sub Area, Air Commodore Sharad Pasricha, air officer commanding 8 Wing, and members of the civil administration were present. The function gave a forum to the veterans and their families for interacting with both military and civil agencies.TNN
