The National Democratic Alliance made him the prime minister to build the nation and not the temple," commented Chautala at a press conference held in connection with the completion of four years of his government.

Chautala''s comments are significant because his party, the Indian National Lok Dal was till recently an important constituent of the NDA and it was only after the Haryana unit of the BJP decided to fight the Lok Sabha elections on its own that the two parted company.

Asked if there was any possibility of his party giving support to the BJP to form government at the Centre after the Lok Sabha elections, Chautala said, "In politics, nothing can be ruled out. We shall assess the situation that emerges after the elections and take decision accordingly. But whatever we decide it will be in the interest of the country."

Asked if there was any possibility of a patch-up between the INLD and the BJP, before the elections, Chautala quipped that he personally felt that the BJP should fight the Lok Sabha elections on its own in Haryana to find out its real worth. Right from day one, Haryana BJP leaders had started criticising his government and its policies along with the Congress, alleged Chautala stressing that his party was fully prepared to contest all the 10 Lok Sabha seats in the state.

To a query if talks were on between his party and the BSP to forge an alliance, Chautala said no such talks were on with any party in the region.

<formid=367815></formid=367815>
