Amritsar: Union minister of state for education, Subhas Sarkar expressed concern over the law and order situation in Punjab and emphasised the need for learning communication and presentation.
While talking to journalists on Sunday, Sarkar said, “Every second day there is an incident of murder in Punjab.“ About nationwide unrest following the controversial statement by former BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma, he said action was being taken, but breaking law and order was not correct.
He also visited the Indian Institute of Management, Amritsar campus and interacted with the students and the staff. He emphasised the need for learning communication and presentation, which he described as a balance between speaking and listening. He urged the participants to treasure India’s rich tradition, culture, and practices aimed at unity and integrity of knowledge.
Professor Nagarajan Ramamoorthy, IIM Amritsar director, highlighted the growth in the number of students pursuing various programmes at IIM Amritsar. Sarkar also paid homage to the martyrs at Jallianwala Bagh.
