Unhappy with police probe, realtor's family to approach HC
PANCHKULA: Following the failure of police to solve the kidnapping of Panchkula-based realtor Deepak Rai Sagar, his family has now finally decided to move the Punjab and Haryana High Court to seek CBI probe in the matter. The family is consulting their lawyer and in a day or two would file a petition before the high court.
On Wednesday, realtors son Sameer Sagar along with his other family members met with Haryana chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda and informed him that the Panchkula police was not doing much to speed up the probe.

Hooda assured them that a fair investigation would be carried out. Sameer Sagar alleged that Panchkula police had not been putting in serious efforts to solve the case. He also sought brain mapping and narco analysis of the five suspects whom he had named before police.
Sameer further claimed that his fathers Delhi-based associates were involved in land deals worth 300 acres in Mumbai and another 70 acres in Rajpura, in which his father was also a partner. He alleged that these business associates could have kidnapped his father over property matters.
Realtors wife Mamta alleged that Panchkula police was also not questioning fake callers who had been continuously calling the family and assuring them information about Deepak Rai Sagar if they were paid handsome money.
Subhash Bhalla, brother-in-law of Sagar, said if the police fail to speed up the probe, they would hold protests before the SP and DGP offices. He added that on July 5 they would also visit the Prime Ministers office in this regard.
On the other hand, Panchkula SP Amitabh Dhillon maintained that his team was working seriously to solve the kidnapping case. We are working on every clue gathered during investigation of the case and also the leads given by family of Deepak Rai Sagar, Dhillon said.
