LUDHIANA: The students of DAV Public School, Bhai Randhir Singh Nagar has bagged top two positions in the district in class 10 examination of CBSE.

LUDHIANA: The students of DAV Public School, Bhai Randhir Singh Nagar has bagged top two positions in the district in class 10 annual examination of central board of secondary education (CBSE), the results of which was announced on Friday. The school achieved a distinction of sorts by setting a new record 96 per cent mark untouched so far by any of the CBSE affiliated schools in the district, claimed its principal RS Patial.

Varundeep and Arundeep of this school bagged first and second positions by securing 96.4 and 96 per cent marks.
The third position went to Garima Dhingra of Sacred Heart Senior Secondary School, Sarabha Nagar scoring 95.4 per cent marks. The fourth position was shared by Shrutiks Gupta of KVM School, Civil Lines and Manpreet Kaur of DAV Centenary Public School, Jagraon getting 95.2 per cent marks.
It turned out to be a special day for the second positioner Arundeep, son of a tailor at local Chaura Bazar. His father Shakti Singh and mother Subhashini are not even matriculates. Youngest of three siblings, Arun was optimistic about scoring so high even as he never took tuitions. Sheer hardwork and clear focus involving about six hours study since February helped him come out with flying colours, he told TNN. He will opt medical studies as he wants to be come a cardiologist.
Interestingly, he and the topper Varun whose father is a doctor are not only his classmate sharing the same section but also good friends. Maintaining healthy academic competition helped both in the final run.
The results are exceptional this time as 30 students secured more than 90 per cent marks which is double the last year''s figure, he informed. As acknowledged by Arun, regular open book and weekly tests combined with timely completion of syllabus ensuring 3-4 revisions did the magic, he said.
