The Mohali education department has terminated the services of two government teachers from different schools for remaining absent from duty without informing the department.

Mohali: The Mohali education department has terminated the services of two government teachers from different schools for remaining absent from duty without informing the department.
The teachers were Swaranjit Kaur, ETT teacher, who was posted at government primary school, Chhota Singapura, block Kurali in Mohali district, and Jatinder Kaur, ETT teacher posted at government primary school, Nariangarh Jhungian, block Banur in Mohali district.

Swaranjit had been absent since May 25, 2017. Despite several notices, she did not join duty, nor filed any reply. On April 17, 2018, deputy district education officer Santosh Rani was appointed as inspection officer to conduct an inquiry, but Swaranjit did not join the inquiry, following which a report was submitted.
Jatinder had been absent since April 23, 2018. Several notices had been sent to her, but she had not replied to the same. On October 26, 2021, Anita Bhardwaj, principal of government senior secondary school, Banur, was appointed as inspection officer, but Jatinder Kaur did not join the inquiry.
