Two killed, four injured as wedding party vehicle crashes in Jind
Jind: Two youths were killed and four others injured after a vehicle carrying members of a wedding party met with an accident on the Delhi–Patiala national highway near Baroda village in Jind district late Wednesday night.According to police, an Ertiga carrying nine youths was travelling from Chhattar village to Baroda village as part of a wedding procession when the driver allegedly lost control after a tyre burst. The vehicle rammed into pipes stacked along the roadside.The injured were rushed to the civil hospital in Uchana. Some were later shifted to a private hospital in Hisar for further treatment.The deceased were identified as Akunsh, a resident of Chhattar village, and Deepak, a resident of Karsindhu village in Uchana Kalan area. Four other occupants sustained injuries and are undergoing treatment.SHO Chandrapal said police received information about the accident during the night and immediately reached the spot."Preliminary investigation suggests the driver lost control after a tyre burst, following which the vehicle crashed. Two occupants were taken to hospital, where doctors declared them dead. Further investigation is underway," he said.Police have initiated proceedings and are investigating the circumstances leading to the accident.
