AMBALA: Two girls were killed while one was hurt as recently constructed
chhajja,
part of the temple entrance, collapsed on them in Naneola village in Ambala district on Monday.
The deceased girls, identified as Manisha and Parwinder Kaur, were aged between 18 and 20 years. The injured, identified as Simran Kaur, also belongs to Tasulpur village in the neighboring Patiala district of Punjab.
Amidst the relentless heat of the sun, three young girls sought refuge in the shade of the temple entrance while waiting for a bus. Tragically, without warning, a section of the temple building collapsed upon them. Manisha and Parwinder were killed on the spot, while Simran was seriously injured and is undergoing treatment at the civil hospital in Ambala City.
The police said that the building area which fell was constructed recently nearly two months ago, lacking adequate support mechanisms. It fell accidently on the girls when they were sitting underneath it in shade.
Naggal police station house officer (SHO) inspector Rishipal said, “Manish, Parwinder Kaur and Simran Kaur of Tasulpur village of Punjab had visited a community centre in Naneola, to fill some forms related to some course of beauty parlor. After finishing their work, the girls were waiting for bus near temple premises, when

of entrance gate of temple suddenly fell on them.”
“Manisha and Parwinder died on the spot while Simran was rushed to nearby community health centre (CHC) at Chourmastpur village. The doctors after primary treatment, referred her to civil hospital, Ambala City for further treatment”, said SHO Rishipal.
A doctor at CHC Chourmastpur said that Simran's condition is out of danger, but she is in shock. “Simran has received injuries on her face and several parts of her body. She was bleeding from mouth.”
SHO Naggal said that the post-mortems of the deceased girls were conducted and their bodies were handed over to their families.
Haryana transport and women and child department minister Aseem Goel, who natively belongs to Naneola village also condoled the accidental deaths of two girls in his social media post.
“Deeply hurt by the mishap that took place in my native village due to the fall of temple construction. In this time of sorrow, I pray to God to rest the departed soul in peace and give strength to the families to bear the loss. We are with the family at the time of grief”, said Aseem Goel.
