CHANDIGARH: Haryana government on Friday suspended a chief town planner (CTP) of urban local bodies department for allegedly demanding bribe from the members of a housing society. Chief town planner K Anirudh Sharma was suspended following a complaint by office-bearers of a group housing society to the chief minister's office.
With the CMO ordering a probe into the entire episode, more officials from the ULB department and town and country planning department have come under the scanner now, sources said.
In an affidavit attached with the complaint, the housing society members alleged that they were asked to pay Rs 2 lakh to Sharma for completing the formalities related to a group housing project coming up on 8.13 acre land in Panipat. Sharma was posted as CTP on deputation.
