CHANDIGARH: Any other day this page that you are reading would have had a touch of
Saurabh Sharma, 31, a senior editorial staffer of The Times of India at Chandigarh. He would have been lending a helping hand in editing, headlines, corrections and a host of nitty gritties that go in taking out a newspaper.
On Thursday, however, he was not running around getting all this done as he had to be rushed to PGI because of brain hemorrhage, to which he succumbed on Friday.
Saurabh, living in Sector 20, Panchkula, had reached PGI in an unconscious state and later slipped into coma and was put on ventilator as his condition continued to deteriorate.
As per his parent's wish his eyes were donated. The last rites will be performed at 11am at the cremation ground in sector 20, Panchkula.
Saurabh, who worked with The Indian Express and The Tribune before joining The Times of India in 2007, is survived by his father K K Sharma, mother Chanderkanta and two elder sisters.
He did his MA in English from Panjab University and then MA in mass communication from PU in 2004. He did his schooling from DAV Public School, Sector 15, Chandigarh.
