Jind: Calling the BJP-led Haryana government’s Independence Day campaign ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ “fake propaganda”, farmers under the banner of Sanyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM), which spearheaded the 2020-2021 farm protests, on Tuesday announced to take out a ‘Tiranga Yatra’ on tractors to mark August 15 in Uchana Kalan. Uchana Kalan assembly seat is represented by deputy chief minister Dushyant Chautala, who heads BJP’s ally party JJP. SKM activists made the announcement during a gathering in Uchana Kalan town on Tuesday. The yatra will start from Old Bus Stand and end at the local grain market. Farmers decided to make girls hoist the Tricolour at the culmination point of the yatra. Azad Palwan, a Jind-based farm unionist, said the BJP was trying to reach every door step in the guise of Har Ghar Tiranga campaign. He called it a “mere eyewash”. “In real, Haryana famers’ sons are serving the nation and safeguarding the borders, whereas peasants are feeding the nation. Therefore, jawan and kisan know the value of the national flag,” he said.
