Tiles stolen from shop, 1 arrested

Chandigarh: Police have arrested a delivery man for allegedly stealing 100 packets of tiles, wash basins and other items from the shop of his employer in Dhanas. Police said the accused is Mohit Kumar, 24, a resident of Dhanas. Ashok Garg, a resident of Phase VII, Mohali, said when he opened his tiles shop on December 25 morning, he found two wash basins and 100 packets of tiles missing. During the course of investigation, police found Kumar allegedly loaded the packets of tiles and wash basins in his pick-up truck from the shop. Police arrested him, claiming to recover the stolen tiles and the truck used in the crime. A local court remanded him to judicial custody.
