Thieves make away with liquor cartons in Chandigarh

CHANDIGARH: Here's one theft that left hoodlums in high spirits!
Thieves struck at a liquor vend in Sector 45 and decamped with cartons of Indian made foreign liquor (IMFL), including Peter Scotch, Chivas Regal and Blenders Pride, among others, on Wednesday night.
Police said the miscreants were caught on CCTV cameras installed at the vend. The thieves also stole an LCD and around Rs 2,500 around 2am.
The theft came to light when an employee of the vend found the back door locks broken on Thursday morning. Vinod Nagpal, manager of the vend, told police that a consignment of liquor cartons had arrived two days ago and the miscreants perhaps knew about it.
SHO of Sector 34 police station inspector Baljeet Singh said, "The thieves came in a three-wheeler in which they loaded their steal."
A case has been registered.
