Temple threat: Police file case against Pannun

Amritsar: In response to the implicit threat directed at Durgiana temple by the proscribed US-based Sikhs for Justice (SFJ), the Amritsar police have lodged an FIR against the general counsel of the Sikh body, Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, for promoting enmity, fostering hatred between religious groups, incitement to commit offences, and involvement in cyber terrorism.As per Sarmail Singh, SHO of the police station in D Division, he along with his fellow officers was present at Durgiana temple when they observed a video circulating widely on social media. In the video, Pannun was heard making statements against the unity and integrity of India and promoting hatred between groups based on religious differences.Following the viral video, a case under Sections 153 A, 153 B, and 505 of the IPC and Section 66F of the IT Act was registered at police station D Division.
