Teachers protest transfer of JTA chairman, plan demonstration against education department
Chandigarh: The Joint Teachers' Association has decided to open a front against the education department and will hold a demonstration in Sector 9, UT secretariat, on Feb 13.
JTA convener Dr Ramesh Chand Sharma, legal advisor Arvind Rana, general secretary Ajay Sharma, co-convener Sangeeta Rani, and cashier Praveen Kaur said the transfer of JTA chairman is a one-sided action, which has angered the teachers of Chandigarh.
They demand that this transfer should be cancelled. They said that the education department took similar decisions earlier as well, due to which the teachers suffered, and now the education department is repeating the same mistake again, which they strongly oppose.
The representatives said that the administration formed a committee on the complaint made in Sector 16 school, which they welcome, and they have full faith in it.
