AMBALA: The district child protection officer (DCPO) Megha Singla along with the members of the Child Welfare Committee (

CWC

) lodged a case against a woman teacher of Shivalik International School at the Naraingarh police station on Saturday evening over the allegations of beating up a class V student.

The joint team had directed the police to take action against the teacher who allegedly beat up the student because he did not complete his homework.

The incident came to light when a team of CWC members and the DCPO went to Naraingarh to inspect an incident of accident in the Shivalik International School’s bus. A couple of students had received

minor injuries

in the accident. The joint team had gone to the school authorities over the incident of the bus accident.

However, the authorities thought the team had come to enquire about the alleged beating of the student. Later, the team also went to the student’s house. CWC member,

Mohit Agarwal

, said that when they reached the victim’s home, they found

blue marks

on his body. The child was allegedly beaten up by a stick.

The family told the team that their 11-year-old son was suffering from stomach problems and fever and hence he could not attend school for three days. The joint team then took the child to conduct his medical. Later, they asked the police to lodge a case against the teacher. The police said that a case has been registered against the accused teacher under Section 75 of the
