Taxi driver, meat shop owner held with heroin

Chandigarh: The district crime cell of the police has arrested a taxi driver and a meat shop owner after 34 gram of heroin was allegedly recovered from him in Sector 52. A police team patrolling near government houses spotted Harpreet Singh (20) and Charanjit Singh (34), both residents of Tarn Taran, Punjab, walking towards while holding bags. As they noticed the cops, they changed their direction and tried to flee. However, cops caught them. Police claimed to have recovered 22.08 gram of heroin from Harpreet Singh and 12.44 gram of heroin from Charanjit Singh. Cops said Harpreet Singh used to obtain heroin from Amritsar and Tarn Taran for sale in the Tricity. A local court remanded the two accused to police custody. tnn

Two taxi drivers held with heroin worth Rs 1 crore

Two taxi drivers in New Delhi have been arrested for transporting over Rs 1 crore worth of heroin. The drivers would pose as passengers while one of them drove the cab with the drugs in the boot. They were apprehended with 915 grams of heroin following a tip-off. The drivers revealed that a common friend was a drug peddler and their brother was also involved in drug trafficking. Further investigation is underway.

Ludhiana: Khanna police arrests man with heroin

A bike rider was caught by the public in Ludhiana's Khanna after allegedly attempting to buy drugs from a smuggler in the Meat market area. The person, identified as Avtar Singh, was arrested by the police and booked under the NDPS act. The police recovered heroin, a lighter, and silver paper from the accused.

Two brothers held with heroin worth Rs 1 cr from Delhi's Rohini

Two siblings, Tej Singh and Subedar Singh, were arrested in Delhi with 915 grams of heroin worth over Rs 1 crore. The police received a tip-off and apprehended the brothers at a specified location in Rohini. During interrogation, it was revealed that they had been involved in drug peddling for the past 10 months. They also disclosed the involvement of a mutual friend and another brother in the illegal trade. One of the brothers had previously been arrested in an NDPS case in 2018.
