Sukhbir urges CBI probe against ex-minister Bhullar

Sangrur: Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Sukhbir Singh Badal on Tuesday asked chief minister Bhagwant Mann to recommend a CBI probe into the death of warehousing corporation officer Gagandeep Singh Randhawa, questioning why action was not taken against Punjab Congress president Amrinder Singh Raja Warring if the CM knew he was linked to the Faridkot extortion-cum-suicide case.Addressing a gathering in Sangrur along with Lehra Gaga constituency in-charge Gagandeep Singh Khandebad, Sukhbir said, "It is ridiculous that Mann had just realised that a Faridkot businessman committed suicide after killing his two children due to extortions made by Punjab Congress president Raja Warring's brother-in-law Dimpy Vinayak. "The chief minister should tell Punjab why he has been silent on this issue for four years," he asked, Sukhbir also asked why the CM continued to brandish a file containing details of an alleged Rs 100 crore scam by Warring involving fabrication of 814 state buses from Rajasthan despite lower quotes from Punjab fabricators during his tenure as transport minister in 2021-22. "If Mann has the guts he should take action against Warring instead of using the issue of lack of CBI probe in Faridkot incident to let former transport minister Laljit Bhullar off the hook." On the Lehra Gaga constituency and neighbouring areas, Sukhbir said, "The SAD is aware that the Ghaggar needs to be tamed. I am committed to the complete channelisation of this river from Himachal to the Punjab border with Haryana. This is my guarantee to you". He said farmers in the region were betrayed by the AAP govt, alleging Mann went back on his promise to give compensation of Rs 50,000 per acre for crop damage besides compensating people for livestock loss. The SAD president announced an Rs 10 lakh interest free loan would be offered to youth besides restarting an expanded Aata Dal scheme and raising old age pension to Rs 3,100 per month and Shagun allowance to Rs 1 lakh.
