KARNAL: The number of stubble-burning incidents in Haryana crossed 3,000 mark on Sunday, as the state recorded 132 fresh cases during the day.


The number of farm fire cases for this season, between September 15 to November 13, has now reached 3,111.

On Sunday, the Jind district recorded the highest number of cases (32). It is followed by 21 in Fatehabad, 15 in Sonipat, 14 each in Sirsa and Kaithal, 13 in Rohtak, 18 in Fatehabad.

Notably, so far, not a single case of farm fire has been reported in Rewari, Panchkula, Nuh, Mahendergarh, Gurugram, and Charkhi Dadri districts.

On the other hand, due to the change in weather, the air quality of several cities of the state improved on Sunday.

The air quality of Kurukshetra, Karnal, Ambala, and Yamunanagar had reached to severe, but now it has returned to moderate and satisfactory.

However, the air quality index of two cities including Hisar (311) and Fatehabad (306) still remained in very poor category.

Whereas, The air quality of 9 cities and towns including Jind (287), Gurugram (282), Faridabad (272), Ballabgarh (251), Sirsa (251), Bahadurgarh (234), Bhiwani (221), Kaithal (221), and Sonipat (219).
