CHANDIGARH: The accused, who had given shelter to the four robbers involved in the Rs 18.43 lakh Dappar

theft, has led the police to the machine that was dumped in a 150-ft deep ditch in
Morni
, Panchkula.
Ravinder Kumar alias
Sanju
, had also attacked the cops when they went to arrest one out of the four robbers Dharminder Singh last week. On Monday, a local court sent him in 10-day police remand.
Sources said that during interrogation, Ravinder told the police about the ATM of
Punjab National Bank. On October 15, the four accused had used gas cutters to break into the ATM kiosk. They had then used a towing vehicle to escape with the machine towards Morni.
At Morni, cops said the accused used a hammer to break the machine and remove the cash and then disposed of the machine by pushing it down the ditch. It was found that Ravinder was also one of the accused in ATM robbery case as he has Rs 4 lakh with him, which was yet to be recovered. Kumar was also involved in a murder case in
Mauli Jagran
and had been sentenced to 20 years in jail by the court. Kumar came out on parole from the court around 20 days ago and was booked in an attempt to murder case.
