The programme was coordinated by Rajya Sabha member Subhash Barala and jointly organised by the Sarv Jatiya Dadan Khap and the govt.
The CM said the state govt has granted ownership rights to lease-holding farmers, and the Agricultural Lease Act has been implemented. Farmers who were in possession for 20 years have now been granted ownership rights, he added.
"Our central govt has extended the free ration scheme until 2028, fulfilling one of the key resolutions of Dhanna Bhagat," he said. "Inspired by Dhanna Bhagat's ideals, our govt has also launched campaigns against cow slaughter and drug abuse. Additionally, under various schemes, the Centre is directly transferring Rs 6,000 crore into the accounts of 20 lakh farmers," he said.
He added that over the past 10 years, the govt has provided Rs 14,000 crore as compensation to farmers, and a new compensation policy has been formulated for high-tension power lines. Multiple initiatives have been undertaken to empower the farming community, he added.
The CM said they take pride in the fact that a public school has been established in the religious region of Kurukshetra in the name of Dhanna Bhagat. The govt aims to ensure equal opportunity and respect for all sections of society. Inspired by the life of Dhanna Bhagat, the govt is running several welfare schemes.
Dhanna Bhagat believed that the nation's progress was closely linked to the prosperity of farmers. The govt has taken numerous steps for the welfare of farmers. A law was also enacted to prevent the sale of fake seeds.
His teachings emphasised that true happiness lies only in the devotion of the Almighty: "Gopala Tera Aarta, Jo Jan Tumri Bhakti Karte, Tinke Kaam Sanwarta". Through his words, he worked to eliminate social evils and guide society in a new direction, he said.
