CHANDIGARH: On the 35th anniversary of the 1984 riots,

Young Progressive Sikh Forum

, announced that as a tribute to the victims of 1984, the forum will help wards of the victimised family in education, placements and entrepreneurship.

President of the forum, Dr Prabhleen Singh, said as a tribute to the many who lost their lives in 1984, the forum along with film-maker Harry Sachdeva organised a special screening of the film 31st October, written and produced by Harry Sachdeva in Mohali on Sunday.

The award-winning mainstream film 31st October is set on the backdrop of one of the most fateful days. The special screening was attended by prominent Sikhs and influential personalities of Chandigarh, and a special tribute was also paid by Harry Sachdeva, writer and producer of film; Dr Rajinder Chadha (Raju Chadha), chairman, Wave Group: Dr SP Singh Oberoi, managing trustee Sarbat Da Bhala Charitable Trust and Dr Prabhleen Singh, president, Young Progressive Sikh Forum.
