BATHINDA: After over ten months after his gruesome killing and five months after the previous song was posthumously put to the charts, the third song of slain Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala was released on Friday morning. Named ‘MeraNaam’, the song is in collaboration with Nigerian singer and rapper Burna Boy and UK-based musician Steel Banglez.
The song goes as "Mera Naa har passe har thaa" (My name everywhere).
In only 20 minutes of the release, the song crossed one million views on YouTube. The Sidhu Moosewala page on youtube has 19.6 million subscribers.
Sidhu Moosewala was killed at village Jawaharke near Mansa in Punjab on May 29.
The slain singer’s previous song "Vaar" was about the valour of Hari Singh Nalwa, the commander in chief of Khalsa Fauz during the regime of Maharaja Ranjit Singh.
Before it, the song SYL, was released on June 23, nearly a month after the singer was killed. That song, also, had got millions of views and likes before it was removed from YouTube. The song was about controversial link canal Satluj Yamuna Link, wherein Moosewala has sung against sharing even a drop of water with any other state. He had also spoken about Balwinder Singh Jatana, who is accused of killing engineers posted at SYL.
