Chandigarh: Sibling power runs the Indian shooting team of Chandigarh’s Vijayveer Sidhu, Karnal’s Anish Bhanwala, and Faridabad’s Adarsh Singh that on Monday won a bronze at the Asian Games, country’s first in men’s 25m rapid-fire pistol event. Born in Punjab’s Mansa, Vijayveer, 21, picked up his first gun at the age of 11 in a school camp in the company of his identical twin, Udayveer, elder by two minutes. They last played together at the World University Games in China last month. Vijayveer told TOI: “My brother is my inspiration and often the opponents confuse me with him. It is a fun surprise when they get to know we’re twins.” The twins joined the national team in 2018. Anish’s elder sister, MBBS student Muskan Bhanwala, was also on the Indian shooting team. Anish said: “There was always friendly competition between us. Asian Games: Indian tennis players make a strong start in Hangzhou

Indian singles tennis players Ankita Raina, Rutuja Bhosale, and Ramkumar Ramanathan have advanced to the pre-quarterfinals at the Asian Games in Hangzhou. Raina won her match against Uzbekistan's Sabrina Olimjonova with a 6-0, 6-0 scoreline. Bhosale triumphed over Kazakhstan's Aruzhan Sagandykova with a 7-6 (2), 6-2 victory. Ramanathan received a walkover as his opponent was unable to compete. In doubles, Saketh Myneni and Ramanathan secured a 6-2, 6-3 win against Nepal's Abhishek and Pradip. India has a history of success in tennis at the Asian Games, with a total of 32 medals.

Asian Games: Indian rowers clinch two bronze medals on Day 2

Indian rowers had a successful day at the Asian Games, winning two bronze medals. The men's fours team secured a bronze medal, while the men's quadruple sculls team also claimed bronze. Hangzhou Asian Games: Roshibina Devi assures India of Wushu bronze

Naorem Roshibina Devi from India has secured a bronze medal in the Women's 60 kg Wushu (Sanda) category at the Asian Games. She won her spot in the semi-finals by defeating her opponent from Kazakhstan. This is not her first medal, as she had previously won a bronze in the same category in the last edition of the Games. She also won a gold medal in the same weight class at the 2019 South Asian Games.
