Shortage of doctors: Chautala villagers march to Haryana capital

Residents of Chautala village have started a march to Chandigarh, demanding an impartial inquiry into the death of three infants, allegedly due to the shortage of doctors in village community health centre (CHC) about three weeks ago. The villagers had staged a dharna in the village for 21 days regarding the demands of filling 11 vacant posts of MBBS doctors, appointment of lab technician, and radiographer, but their demands were not met.

SIRSA: Residents of Chautala village have started a march to Chandigarh, demanding an impartial inquiry into the death of three infants, allegedly due to the shortage of doctors in village community health centre (CHC) about three weeks ago. Struggling farmer leaders Rakesh Fagoria and Premsukh Godara said despite the continuous 21-day agitation, the deputy commissioner and health department officials did not consider it appropriate to reach out and communicate with them. Even after such big incidents, the deputy commissioner did not inquire about the matter till date after visiting the CHC, they said.
