Panchkula: A woman was caught stealing shampoo bottles and face wash packs under her saree at a supermarket in Panchkula, police said on Sunday after registering a case. Ashish Bisht, a manager at Vishal Mega Mart, said the woman entered the shop around 10.30am. After a while, when she was exiting the mart, an alarm started beeping. A security guard was asked to check her. The woman had hidden 13 shampoo bottles and three packs of face in her slacks she was wearing under her saree, the complaint alleged. The manager said she identified herself as Paramjeet, a resident of Jalandhar.
A case under Sections 380 (theft at dwelling house) and 511 (punishment for attempting to commit offences punishable with imprisonment for life or other imprisonment) of the IPC was registered at Kalka police station.
