SGPC to award Rs 1L to Sikh student selected for administrative services

Amritsar: The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) has approved a proposal to honour Sikh students selected for higher administrative services with a cash award of Rs 1 lakh each.SGPC president Harjinder Singh Dhami, in a release issued here on Saturday, said the SGPC was making significant efforts to encourage Sikh youth to enter administrative services through competitive examinations.The SGPC already supports Amritdhari students by paying their fees, provides free education to Amritdhari girls, and offers annual assistance to underprivileged students.
