SGPC chief objects to removal of Sikh articles of faith during exam
Amritsar: Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee president Harjinder Singh Dhami on Monday expressed objection to an incident in Ratlam, Madhya Pradesh, where an amritdhari Sikh girl candidate was asked to remove her turban and kirpan during a Public Service Commission exam.In a release issued by the SGPC, Dhami stated that people across the country were well aware of Sikh religious principles and traditions, and there was no ignorance about the Sikh articles of faith (kakaars). "Despite this, raising questions about the kakaars is deeply painful," Dhami mentioned in the release.
