Fazilka: Police have uncovered a sextortion racket in Punjab's Fazilka district, with the arrest of two women.
Police said that the gang's modus operandi involved women stopping commuters for lifts and threatening to implicate them in rape and molestation cases to extort money.

One of the victims was a resident of Lallowali. On his complaint, police registered an FIR against seven people and arrested two suspects, identified as Parveen Kaur and Kashmira Kaur.
Fazilka Sadar police station in-charge Pargat Singh said the complainant was coming to Fazilka for some work when a woman got into his car near Jatwali village. A man immediately took a photograph of them. The two threatened him with a rape case. According to police, a demand of Rs 2 lakh was made, and Rs 50,000 was extorted.
Police said the main accused and four others are yet to be arrested.
