Security for school near protest site

Mohali: Senior superintendent of police (SSP) Sandeep Garg said extra force would be deployed near a private school close to the Qaumi Insaaf Morcha protest site to ensure CBSE board examinations are conducted without any disturbance.
The SSP said, “We will deploy extra force near Lawrence Public School, Sector 51, to instill a sense of security among children, parents and school staff.Directions will be given to a SP-level officer to personally monitor the security at the school.”
Principal Veena Malhotra had expressed concern over the security of children as the school is a centre for the CBSE board exams and is near the morcha site. The principal has written a letter to the deputy commissioner and the SSP.
A parent said, “We are scared about the safety of our children. We daily drop and pick up our child, but now with people roaming around with swords, it is scary.”
The mocha site is close to three schools, YPS; Lawrence Public School, and a government school in Sector 52.
