Scholars can get books from Panjab University library

has decided that

research scholars

can get books issued from A C Joshi library from 9 am to 5 pm as per their requirement. However, Students will not be allowed to sit in the library. This was decided in a meeting chaired by the dean,

, on Saturday. The scholars had raised a demand over the issue with

the dean student welfare office

.


It has been decided in the meeting that all the chairpersons of the departments will provide a list of research scholars and the books would then be issued accordingly.

, librarian, A C Joshi library, said the members have discussed the SoP which the staff has to follow while handling books returned by scholars. It has been decided that every book returned by the students will not be shelved the same day. Books will be left in a drop box for a day and will then be placed in a UV chamber and sanitized. The books will then be later put back on the shelf.
