CHANDIGARH: "Sahayta Store", social initiative by students of UIET, Panjab University, was inaugurated on Thursday. The "Sahayta Store" students' team informed that the theme of
Sahayta store
is "Giveaway to give a way". It aims at righteous distribution of economic benefits to one who are in actual need.
At the Sahayta store, one can donate anything, which could be used by someone else in need. The donated products would then be refurbished by the unemployed, who again help in organizing the sale camps of the products. The vision of this initiative is to make people access the basic needs at very nominal rates and along the process the problem of unemployment at the regional level will be tackled. The store on Thursday sold about 80 donated and refurbished products, which included clothes, tablets, books, electronics.
Sahayta Store' has been set up by engineering students of UIET. Annirudh (EEE), Akash Upadhyay (IT), Pankaj Garg (IT), Ashutosh Upadhyay (Chemical), Prashant (EEE). The store was inaugurated by Professor Hardev Singh from the
University of Nottingham
