Army commander of Western Command, Lt General K J Singh on Wednesday inaugurated the installation of 'T-55' Russian origin battle tank at Dalhousie Public School.

CHANDIGARH: Army commander of Western Command, Lt General K J Singh on Wednesday inaugurated the installation of �T-55' Russian origin battle tank at Dalhousie Public School. This is perhaps the highest location of a battle tank in Himachal Pradesh. On this occasion, principal of the school, Captain G S Dhillon informed that transporting the tank from the Central Vehicle Depot in Delhi cantonment to Dalhousie was a Herculean task.

He said efforts were afoot to have a naval representation, by placing a ship alongside with the other military equipment. This spot presents a spectacular view with the giant tricolour fluttering in the backdrop of the MIG-21 Fighter Air Craft, surface-to-air Pichora missiles and now the T-55 battle tank.
