The improved link is expected to boost regional economic integration by facilitating smoother movement of goods and passengers between Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Himachal Pradesh.Union minister of state Ravneet Singh Bittu described the approval as a transformative step under the Tricity Ring Road initiative. He said the project would help decongest Chandigarh, Mohali and Panchkula, enhance road safety, reduce pollution levels and provide quicker access to Himachal Pradesh.
