Redressal camps to be set up in all villages: Chander Mohan

Panchkula: Former Haryana deputy chief minister and Congress candidate from Panchkula constituency Chander Mohan on Thursday claimed that the Congress would form government in the state that would live up to its promises. Chander Mohan said people would not have to go to Chandigarh to solve their problems as ‘darbars’ would be held in every village and officers themselves would approach the people for resolution of their issues.Addressing the people through a public outreach campaign in rural areas of Panchkula constituency, he said, “Problems of the people are my problems and it is my job to get them resolved.” “Seeing the last 10 years of tenure of the BJP MLA in Panchkula, people have become disillusioned with the party. The Congress workers who had left the party for some reason and gone to the BJP have returned today and all those workers are welcome in the Congress family,” he said.The Congress candidate held public meetings in sectors 4, 8 & 21, Ramgarh, Mankaya, Kot, Behad, Dabkori, Kanoli, Sukhdarshanpur, Dhandharsu, Batwal, Khatoli, and Tribune Mitra Vihar in which he said the BJP government had forgotten to develop Panchkula and its surrounding areas in the last 10 years. “Even basic problems like road construction and bus stand have not been solved till date. Only false promises have been made.” The former deputy CM further claimed that the Congress had fulfilled whatever promise it had made earlier like the ones made in 2005 and 2009, and worked even beyond that. In future also, Congress government will fulfil all its promises. He alleged that the BJP had not fulfilled its promises made in its 2014 manifesto till date.Giving information about Congress manifesto, Chander Mohan said after the formation of the Congress government in state, all women between 18-60 years would be given an honorarium of Rs 2,000 per month. After this, they will get an old age pension of Rs 6,000. “The Congress has promised to give a pension of Rs 6,000 to all elderly, disabled and widows. Gas cylinder will be given for Rs 500 and 300 units of free electricity will be given free.”

Cong, BJP candidates trade barbs over Panchkulas development

Gian Chand Gupta, BJP candidate for Panchkula, called the Congress manifesto unfulfillable promises and urged voters to back BJP for Haryana's progress. In contrast, Congress candidate Chander Mohan accused BJP of misrule in Panchkula and promised relief from inflation and various benefits if elected. Both held public meetings to garner support.

Gupta: Congress always had anti-dalit agenda

Haryana assembly speaker Gian Chand Gupta, BJP candidate from Panchkula, held a press conference to wish Prime Minister Narendra Modi a happy birthday. He highlighted BJP's development efforts and accused Congress of misleading the public. Gupta also announced the Jan Ashirwad rally in Barwala Mandal and mentioned visits by Union ministers to Haryana.
