Rashtriya Bal Puraskar for Mohali mountaineer
Mohali: A 10-year-old mountaineer, Saanvi Sood, was selected for the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar Award, to be conferred by the President of India in New Delhi. Saanvi Sood, a resident of Ropar, Punjab, is a student of Yadavindra Public School, Mohali.
On December 26, the President will honour her for her mountaineering achievements. A total of 17 children were selected from all over India, and Saanvi Sood is the only child to be selected from Punjab.
So far, Saanvi Sood climbed and hoisted the Indian flag on several of the highest peaks, such as the Everest base camp, Africa's highest peak, Australia's highest peak, and Russia and Iran's highest peaks.
