Rape case accused gets 10-year jail term

Jind: A fast-track special court (Pocso) in Jind has sentenced a man to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment in a rape case involving a minor. The court has also imposed a fine of Rs 60,000 on the convict.The verdict was delivered by additional sessions judge (Pocso Court) Sifa. According to the police spokesperson, the case was registered in April 2025 at Julana police station after the survivor's father filed a complaint alleging that his minor daughter was sexually assaulted by their neighbour. Following this, the police initiated an investigation and arrested the accused, Prikshit alias Prince, a resident of Devrar.Based on the evidence and arguments presented by the prosecution, including DDA Yogendra Rathi, the court found the accused guilty and sentenced him under the Pocso Act and Sections 137(2), 142 of the BNS.MSID:: 130556536 413 |
