Rajpura-Akkar link road to be named after Guru Tegh Bahadur: Khudian
Chandigarh: To honour the spiritual legacy of Guru Tegh Bahadur, the Punjab govt will name a key 13.15-kilometre link road in Patiala district after the ninth Sikh master, Punjab agriculture and farmers welfare minister Gurmeet Singh Khudian said on Tuesday.Replying to a question by MLA Gurlal Singh Ghanaur in Punjab Vidhan Sabha, Khudian said the thoroughfare in question connected Rajpura to Sehra and further extended from Sehra to Akkar village, where the historic Gurudwara Nimm Sahib was situated.He emphasised that the Punjab govt was committed to honouring the legacy of the 9th Guru Sahib, and informed that the final notification would be issued following completion of the administrative procedures."The formal naming will be executed immediately upon receipt of formal resolutions from the gram panchayats concerned, followed by the official recommendation from the deputy commissioner, Patiala," said Khudian.The minister said Guru Tegh Bahadur's unparalleled sacrifice for the protection of dharam, humanity, and freedom of faith continued to inspire generations.MSID:: 129391236 413 |
