Rain relief likely from June 11
Bathinda: Heatwave conditions persisted in Punjab and Haryana on Monday, with maximum temperatures staying well above 40°C, averaging 2°C to 4°C above normal in isolated pockets.Minimum night temperatures also remained 1.6°C to 3.0°C above average across both states and Chandigarh. However, a fresh Western Disturbance is expected to bring isolated to scattered rainfall between June 11 and 14. Compared to the previous day, Punjab saw its average maximum temperature rise by 0.9°C (2.3°C above normal). Anandpur Sahib recorded the state's highest temperature at 44.5°C, followed by Bathinda at 44°C and Faridkot at 43°C. Haryana registered a 1.3°C jump in average maximum temperatures, sitting 1.8°C above normal. Rohtak was the hottest in the state at 45.2°C, followed by Hisar at 43.6°C. Isolated pockets of Punjab and Haryana will likely experience heatwave conditions till June 11.
