Rail traffic in Firozpur and Jammu divisions to be hit on March 30
Chandigarh: Rail services on the Sanahwal-Amritsar section of the Firozpur Division will be affected on March 30 due to the replacement of signalling gear with an electronic interlocking system at Tangra station, Northern Railway officials said on Wednesday.According to an official spokesperson, a total of 10 trains will remain cancelled, while four will be diverted, two will be short-terminated, and three will be regulated as part of the operational changes during the maintenance work.Among the cancelled services for March 30 are train numbers 74641 (Jalandhar City-Amritsar), 74691 (Amritsar-Qadian), 74692 (Qadian-Amritsar), 74604 (Tarn Taran-Beas) and 74605 (Beas-Tarn Taran).Train number 64551 (Ludhiana Junction-Chheharta) will be short-terminated at Butari, while train number 64552 (Chheharta-Ludhiana Junction) will originate from Butari instead of its scheduled station, said the spokesperson.Several trains will also be diverted via Tarn Taran. These include train number 12411 (Chandigarh-Amritsar Express), which will take a longer route, resulting in a marginal increase in travel time. Other diverted trains include 15707 (Katihar Junction-Amritsar), 14506 (Nangal Dam-Amritsar) and 12029 (New Delhi-Amritsar).In addition, train numbers 14650 (Amritsar-Jaynagar), 15531 (Saharsa Junction-Amritsar) and 12497 (New Delhi-Amritsar) will be regulated en route for approximately 45 minutes, 60 minutes and 20 minutes, respectively, the spokesperson added.Separately, rail operations in the Jammu Division will also be impacted due to the removal of a relieving girder from Bridge No 163. An 8.45-hour traffic block has been scheduled on the Martyr Captain Tushar Mahajan-Chak Rakhwala section of the Jammu Tawi-Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra line for essential maintenance.As a result, train numbers 12919 (Dr Ambedkar Nagar-Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra), 12475 (Hapa-Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra), and 11449 (Jabalpur-Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra) will be short-terminated at Martyr Captain Tushar Mahajan station on March 31. Train number 11450 (Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra-Jabalpur) will originate from the same station on April 1, the spokesperson informed.Further, train number 14610 (Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra-Yog Nagari Rishikesh) will be rescheduled by 150 minutes and regulated by 40 minutes en route, while train number 12446 (Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra-New Delhi) will be regulated by 30 minutes on April 1.Passengers have been advised to check updated train schedules before travel and plan accordingly, said the spokesperson.MSID:: 129804445 413 |
